Hoodzy is a neighbourhood marketplace for gated communities in India. Home cooks, bakers, tailors, tutors, salons and small shops sell to the neighbours already living around them — through a feed on your phone, not a group chat.
What it is
Hoodzy puts every seller in your society in a single place — today's lunch, this weekend's bakes, the tailor two towers over. You order in a tap and pay the seller directly by UPI or cash.
Only residents can see or sell in a society. Your phone number stays hidden until the seller accepts your order. We take no commission, and we never hold your money.
Who builds it
Hoodzy is made by Vedith Innovation Labs. We are early, we are small, and we are live in our first communities — which means the fastest way to change the app right now is to tell us something is wrong with it.
About the name
Short for neighbourhood, with the long bit taken off. It had to be easy to say, easy to spell out over a phone call, and not already taken — which rules out far more names than you would think.
Why we built it
The short answer: every gated community already has a market running inside it, and it deserved better than a group with 387 unread messages. The longer answer is on the Why Hoodzy page.
